I know that analog synths are not a holy grail: I work in the box as well and many amazing songs have been made with VST's. But for some tunes and styles, the real analog gear just hits different. Less is more: no cover ups, extensive use of saturation plugins when you work with analog synths. Just pure full, deep, rich, aggressive or super wide and mellow sounds.
And for me real synths are much more intuitive, I will always pick pushing buttons and turning filters over clicking with a mouse.
And oh, nothing beats a real Space Echo. Just love it. Totally worth the yearly maintenance costs.

Hi, I'm Jaap Mol, I work as a music producer and mix engineer and allround creative guy. I have never not been making music. In the last 20+ years I played in bands, worked in studio's, made solo work and now I settled down in my cosy studio in Amsterdam.
I love anything synth and keys related, but have most fun producing everything from scratch; programming drums, playing guitar, bass, vocals. I've had the pleasure of working with a whole lot of artists in all kind of genres. I love 80's inspired indie pop, but also had a lot of fun working in other genres like punk, rock, electronic music and even hiphop.
I have a solo project which is more neo-classical and cinematic. If necessary I have a great network of great musicians to join in on a project. I'd love to add synths to your project, do the whole production or get everything together with a steady mix.
